London based DJ/ producer Kattison is all set to release his debut EP End Our Sleep via legendary DJ Sasha’s label Last Night on Earth. Following the success and recognition of his debut single ‘I Know You’re Ready’ from the likes of Annie Mac, Monki, Danny Howard and Sasha, he is already proving himself to be an artist to watch out for. His jungle vibes, heavy synths and catchy beats, make for easy listening. With a handful of new releases lined up for 2015, he is surely going to make a name for himself on the house scene.

Radiohead – ‘Idioteque’

Kattison: “I found it almost impossible to only choose one track from Radiohead’s discography, but this is the song that effectively got me into dance music. I went for the live version because it gives me shudders every time I watch it; especially the part when the acoustic drums come in, and Thom goes off on one!”

Blawan – ‘Getting Me Down’

Kattison: “I think Blawan is one of the few producers who’s taken a RnB acapella and made the vocal completely his own. This song is completely untouchable and goes off in a club every time.”

Benga – ‘Pleasure’

Kattison: “There’s no denying that early Dubstep has hugely influenced me, and choosing just one cut from Benga’s album was a tough one. However, this has it all, melody, huge drums and a perfect bass line.”

Zomby/Reark – ‘Natalia’s Song’

Kattison: “Who cares who actually made this song, it’s one of the most beautiful things I’ve ever heard.”

Paleman – ‘Slither’

Kattison: “Paleman is one of my favourite producers of all time, and that’s because there is no one else out there like him. His drums are unique which is a huge feat for someone in the 4/4 dance music scene. Just listen to those delayed rim shots!”

Pirupa – ‘Can You Hear Me’

Kattison: “I first heard this on Skream’s R1 residency and immediately fell in love. That vocal hook is so infectious, and it’s one of my favourite tracks to mix with. Works well with almost any other track.”
