Notion 70

This week’s 10Trax is a little different, as we bring you a selection of our favourite hits from our issue 70 cover stars: 5 Seconds of Summer, Mollie King, Tove Lo, Pete Wenz and The Weeknd.

5 Seconds of Summer – ‘She’s Kinda Hot’

This track comes from the first cover stars of Notion 70 to be announced and it’s safe to say that the female population went absolutely bonkers. 5SOS has got to be everyone’s guilty pleasure right? We love this super catchy track.

The Saturdays Feat. Flo Rida – ‘Higher’

Mollie King was our second cover star to be revealed; didn’t she look stunning! Speaking about The Saturdays’ hiatus and hinting at other possible solo projects, we expect big things from her to come. We’re throwing it back a couple of years (can you believe this came out four years ago?!) to this catchy number featuring Flo Rida.

Tove Lo – ‘Talking Body’

The sassy Tove Lo was our third cover star for #Notion70! In issue 70 she speaks about the gender divide in the music industry, being on tour with Katy Perry and showing her body on stage. This track is already a massive hit; the Swedish star knows the formula for making super catchy songs.

Fall Out Boy – ‘Uma Thurman’

Mr Wentz…that cover (heart eye emoji). Again, it was no surprise that the female population went berserk for this cover. The boys know how to make a good video; this one is just as hilarious as some of their others.  Ducks, wigs, weightlifting and bedtime stories are just the start. Big Sean even makes an appearance, believe it or not. Watch, and you will not be disappointed.

The Weeknd Feat. Drake – ‘Live For’

The Weeknd was the fifth and final cover we unleashed, and what a cover! We loved this shoot, photographed by Helena Christensen in black and white film. The Weeknd is doing big things everywhere and this track ‘Live For’ is one that is still popular amongst fans.

Tove Lo – ‘Habits (Stay High)’

This track was one of her first to put Tove Lo on the map and got people talking. You may be more familiar with the Hippie Sabotage remix of this. Epic pop beats, with amazing vocals, makes it a great track to listen to.

5 Seconds of Summer – ‘She Looks So Perfect’

Upbeat, with infectious guitar melodies throughout (kind of makes you want to go in full air guitar mode). This track is another one from the 5 Seconds of Summer boys that you can’t help but love. In our interview in Notion 70, they talk about maturing as songwriters and making a difference to their fan’s lives.

The Weeknd – ‘Tell Your Friends’

This song is The Weeknd’s most recent release. We love this track; mellow, soulful with elements of jazz. The piano overtones throughout the beginning of the song prepare you for the swift change over for the second half of the track. The video directed by Grant Singer is also beautifully shot; The Weeknd never fails to surprise or impress, does he?

The Saturdays – ‘What About Us’

Another infectious pop hit from the girls. This one is the perfect summer anthem and it literally just makes you feel good! The vocals from all of the girls are on point, and they all look stunning in this video. It reached number one on the UK singles chart too.

Fall Out Boy – ‘Irresistible’

The boys show off their basketball skills (or lack of) in this hilarious and particularly irresistible video. They know how to do memorable and make you want to get up to dance and sing-along. A classic rock-infused anthem with a cracking video, this is one of our favourites from the boys.
