A new documentary on Dame Vivienne Westwood is coming to British cinemas

Next year London-based film company Dogwoof will release WESTWOOD: PUNK, ICON, ACTIVIST, a feature-length documentary paying homage to fashion icon Dame Vivienne Westwood. The first feature-length documentary about the designer it’s set to be a landmark moment for fans of her clothes and presence in the fashion world.

The film, directed by visual artist Lorna Tucker, will encompass Westwood’s remarkable story of struggle and how she’s flourished in the fashion scene since making an arrival during Britain’s punk era. Premiering at 2018’s Sundance Film Festival on January 20th, as part of the World Cinema Documentary Competition, attendees will get a first-hand peek at Tucker’s artistic blend of vintage material with newly shot footage; an exploration of Westwood’s artistry and a series of heart-warming interviews with close relatives, friends and associates of the designer.
