Astrid Andersen takes us to exotic places for SS18

Andersen takes her signature sports-luxe aesthetic on safari.

Danish-born designer Astrid Andersen presented her SS18 collection at London Fashion Week Men’s on Sunday 11th June. Staying true to signature style, SS18 focussed heavily on traditional sportswear attire but ensured a re-worked colour palette, creatively sourced fabrics and intensified florals. This season saw a subtle safari theme infiltrate the Andersen aesthetic, incorporating a range of hooded jackets and shades of muted green into the collection, alongside accents of metallic lace and silky florals.

The collection saw a collaboration with Danish jewellery company, Monies, to create a range of avant-garde pieces fit for the AA vision. In keeping with the safari theme, the jewellery prominently featured discs made of Acacia wood fused with Brazilian crystals which created specifically for SS18’s showcase. Notable pieces within the collection include a khaki velour vest and bottoms and striped bomber jacket suits complete with sheer metallic lace.

In truth, SS18 did not stray too far from previous offerings yet still managed to incorporate accents of newness through the use of its chosen materials and aspects of layering along with a slightly revised colour scheme.
