At just 15-years young, many of us would’ve been stuck in a classroom daydreaming but Billie Eilish is selling out tours across Europe and North America, earning a place on BBC Sound of 2018’s list and now, teaming up with Vince Staples on new single ‘&Burn’. The track acts as a metaphor for a break-up; sounds of paper tearing imitates the feeling of heartbreak and thumping drums resemble the trauma of a relationship’s end. In their duet, Eilish and Staples play the role two love-birds coming to terms with their break-up.

In a statement, Eilish explains how the track came together, “when we were working on the song in the studio, we originally wanted to call the song ‘Watch & Burn’ (like ‘Watch & Learn,’ but you’re burning). We ended up producing two separate and completely different versions. This version felt like it would be perfect for someone as a feature.” Without hesitation, she continued, “Vince Staples was my NUMBER 1 choice, so when we got him to hear it and he agreed to do it was incredible and the verse he did is so mf good! He is a God and I’m excited about it to finally come out!”
