East/North London’s Ebenezer is shaping up to be very exciting prospect for 2018. Having hit the ground running in the last few months of 2017 he’s ending the year on a high with new single, ‘F**K IT’. The track tackles his struggle with anxiety and the process he’s been through to overcome it. Making a promise to “grind through this shit”, the track is part turn-up anthem, part-conscious banger, with Ebenezer’s autotuned vocals both reflecting the experiences of life in the city and inspiring listeners to overcome them.
Having come from a background of struggle – living in tight conditions with his family – it was this that gave him the drive to get to where he is today. In his younger days, as a form of escapism, he would spend evenings listening to MTV base, which eventually encouraged him to pick up the skill of producing. After years of hard graft, he’s been fortunate enough to work with the likes of Jeremih, Ty Dolla $ign and more, and it was this that gave him the strength to keep pushing. Speaking about his new single, Ebenezer said in a statement “I stopped caring about being judged which stopped me from living, from chasing my dreams and from being unapologetically me. All I ever wanted to do was release music and share my story with the world, but suffering from anxiety made it extremely difficult but now.” He pauses before ending with: “I’m, like fuck it! Pun intended.” Listen to ‘F**K IT’ below.
