Gone are the times of being restricted to Britannia for your yearly festival fix. These days heading to the continent for a week of music, sun and antics is becoming the norm. With so much musical and venue choice from east to west, the trouble plaguing most festival goers is knowing which one to hit up… Que Fresh Island festival. Since it’s inception 6 years ago Europe’s biggest hip-hop and urban music festival has boasted a  star studded line up of big names including: Wiz Khalifa, Chris Brown as well as Stormzy, JME and Action Bronson. Set in the dreamy Croatian island of Pag, Fresh Island is a world away from the muddy fields and trampled tents of the UK festival scene. Here’s our top 10 list of reasons why you need to be at Fresh Island this summer.

10. Beach vibes

The stages for Fresh Island have the ultimate wow factor – complete with bars and multiple pools. Multiple venues are spread across gorgeous Zcre beach – with each unique stage turning into one massive pool party. It’s the ultimate beach vibe, so if you fancy taking a break from the music relaxing on the beach is just a step outside the club.

9. You can leave your wellies at home

No British musical festival is complete without a down pour of rain and spotting at least one unfortunate soul falling into the mud whilst stumbling back to their tent. Whatever style or colour of welly you opt for, remembering them is probably no. 1 on your festival must have list – thankfully your wellies can stay at home for Fresh Island. With the average temperature on the island of Pag climbing to the low 30s in July, wall to wall sunshine is guaranteed. Instead of worrying about Wellies worry about what swimming attire you’ll want to party in.

With the exchange rate of 10 British Pounds equating to around 90 Croatian Kuna – getting the drinks in is not a problem. Food on the island is also pretty cheap, with the cost of groceries and meals at local restaurants being dead affordable. Festival ticket prices are at 109 Euros, with accommodation and airport transfer also being relatively cheap. Flights from the UK start at around £110.
