Jorja Smith is having a moment. Fresh from her massive collaborations with Drake and Kali Uchis, the British RnB star has now dropped her latest solo single ‘Teenage Fantasy.’ Released last night, Smith confirmed that she wrote the track when she was just a mere 16-years-old.
Still just 19, the track can be read as a confession of Smith’s old soul, showing a maturity few artists her age can muster. On ‘Teenage Fantasy,’ Smith sings “I need to grow and find myself,” in relation to a romantic partner, a mindset not many of her coevals may have. Smith has a way of creating beautifully relatable tracks, both in music and lyrics, rendering her one of Britain’s greatest exports at the moment. Listen to the new track below.
