Hailing from Istanbul, designer Bunyamin Aydin takes a distinct and fresh stance on streetwear with his latest AW17 collection. The Les Benjamins collection took centre stage at Paris Fashion Week and featured a beautiful blend of ethnic motifs, metallic embroideries and gothic text, all embellished on the classic streetwear silhouette. Inspired by the Mongolian sport of eagle hunting, Aydin played with man’s connection with the bird as they explored the Altai mountains. The eagle motif was seen on a variety of Les Benjamins garments, from jackets to the cuff of trousers – a nod to the ancient tradition.
The rich choice of fabrics by Les Benjamins made for a beautiful and exciting collection. Oversized sweatshirts and baggy shorts – a streetwear staple, were made to look positively regal by the intricate embroidery worked into black velvet and bold tapestries.
