Garage legend MJ Cole has returned to the spotlight with new single ‘Shelter.’ The pioneering producer and DJ dropped the track this afternoon and safe to say it’s a belter. Atmospheric and brooding ‘Shelter’ sees Cole adopting a mature take on his garage roots, moody synths carrying the lead between energetic bursts of drums. Emerging singer-songwriter Bruno Major takes on vocal duties, his distinctive voice carrying the track expertly. It’s the kind of track that works at any point during a night out. However, thanks to its slower pace and night-time piano part it’s probably at its most effective on the nightbus home. Listen below.
