The duo debut a slower first offering since their last album and hypnotic new video too.

It was though they were listening to me as I moaned the other day that Mount Kimbie hadn’t released anything for ages and decided this Monday to gift us with a treat. Today the duo announced a new track with, as they put it in an Instagram post today, “old friend and one time band mate” James Blake. Releasing music and rising to prominence at the same time as Blake, Mount Kimbie’s otherworldly style sits along the same vein as the fellow Londoner so it made perfect sense that they would one day collaborate.

The track, the first one since their 2013 album Cold Spring Fault Less Youth, is a rather down tempo affair, driven by an organ and Blake’s vocals, long and hypnotic. The visuals, shot by Frank Lebon, are trippy, wonderful and strange, a perfect accompaniment to the lyrics which seem to depict a disappointing and empty one night stand.

Mount Kimbie also announce they will be touring the US in May and June. For more info, head to Mount Kimbie‘s Twitter or Instagram for details.
