NikeLab meets COMME des GARÇONS for “invisible” shoes, the new Dunk Hi’s

Inspired by the tale of the Emperors new clothes, the Dunk takes transparency to a whole new level.

NikeLab has partnered with COMME des GARÇONS to recreate a classic Nike silhouette and following its showcase at the COMME des GARÇONS Homme Plus show last October, the “invisible” Nike Lab Dunk Hi is finally being released. An edgy mix of black leather and clear PVC paired with accents of comfort foam, the shoes are designed with holes for ventilation to ensure maximum breathability.

Dubbed the ‘invisible shoes’, the Dunk Hi appears to draw inspiration from Hans Christian Andersen’s cult classic tale about a sorely misled emperor in search of a new wardrobe. The new release aims to address the common misconception that invisibility and transparency are one in the same. The collaboration with COMME des GARÇONS is the second basketball collaboration from Nike this month, released exclusively at the COMME des GARÇONS store in New York come February 8th.
