The August bank holiday means one thing in London: Carnival. Every year millions of people take to the streets of Notting Hill and the surrounding area for the biggest celebration of Caribbean culture and music in Europe. It’s one of the biggest street parties in the world and even if it’s raining, it’s bound to be locked off. This year was no exception, with over a million people showing up over Sunday and Monday to watch the floats and enjoy the countless soundsystems on offer.

There’s so much going on at Carnival that no two visits are the same, so in order to get the best view possible we got rising dancehall star Alicai Harley to take us around with her as she performed on Sunday. In her photo-diary, she links up with Carnival icons new and old, shuts down several stages and keeps it looking fly despite the rain. Check out her photos below.

Alicai Haley’s latest single ‘Naah Done’ is out now.
