At this point, we shouldn’t be surprised by how good the Primavera Sound line-up is, but every year they up the ante and every year we find ourselves googling flights to Barcelona. This year is no exception. Over the weekend everyone from Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds to Migos will take to the stage. The Arctic Monkeys, Björk, A$AP Rocky, The National and Lorde will join them in topping the bill, with Floating Points, Fever Ray, Father John Misty, Arca, Lykki Li, Slowdive and countless others making up the rest of the bill.
Taking place from May 30th until June 2nd, the three main days of music also boast a specially curated night for the club-oriented festival goer. On Thursday 31st Four Tet will bring Daphni, Josey Rebelle and Champion along for a night of leftfield fun, on Friday June 1st, Floating Points will take to the decks for a marathon six-hour session and on Saturday 2nd Amsterdam’s Dekmantel will host Palms Trax, Palmbomen II and Orpheu the Wizard. There will also be a host of free concerts throughout the city of Barcelona taking place on June 3rd. Plenty to fill your time then. Watch the spaghetti-western themed line-up announcement video below and revisit our review of last year’s Primavera Sound.
