River Island are no stranger to designer collaborations, previously partnering with the likes of Sibling, Lou Dalton and Matthew Miller to boost their signature Design Forum initiative. This time, London designer and New Gen award winner Ashish Gupta will be taking to the design studio with a 15-piece loungewear collection.
Following the success of his recent London Fashion Week Men’s Collections, one of which aimed to explore the identity politics surrounding the Brexit debate and the other celebrating London’s diversity and multiculturalism, the designer has created 15 gender neutral pieces for his latest offering.
The collection appears to consist of intricately embroidered loungewear, oversized puffer jackets and alphabet lettered sweatshirts and has been described by Ashish as “something lazy and a bit dreamy, something relaxed enough to lounge around the house in, yet stylish enough to be taken out.”
Currently, all we have to go on are these dreamy illustrations, but if previous collections are anything to go by we can expect powerful slogans and bucketloads of sequins. The collection will be released on the River Island website following the debut of their fashion film at September’s London Fashion Week. See the rest of the illustrations below.
