Joel Baker is one of the most promising new voices in the singer-songwriter world. Having already collaborated with the likes of Abra Cadabra and Jake Isaac, he’s establishing himself as an artist with more depth than many acoustic guitar slingers. His songs tackle the every day, spinning relatable stories that draw on his struggle to turn his passion into his profession, aided by his time as a speech writer for the Labour party.

Having already racked up co-signs from grime’s go to photographer Vicky Grout, MistaJam and Huw Stephens, today he releases his debut mixtape Bag of Dreams, a seven-track collection of his work over the last four years that includes the Abra Cadabra featuring ‘Story.’ To celebrate the release, we’re sharing the second part of his exclusive live session for Notion where he takes on the mixtape’s title track, peeling the layers back to just his voice and a piano, flexing his lyrical ability. Watch the session below.
