Sofar Sounds, otherwise known as Songs From a Room, have teamed up with Amnesty International in order to celebrate World Refugee Day in a way unlike any other. Come September 20th, the collaboration will be the driving force behind a series of shows, 300 to be exact, taking place in over 60 different countries and featuring an extensive line-up of up to 1000 artists. The concert series is titled ‘Give A Home’ and seeks to raise awareness of the current refugee crisis, an issue affecting a grand total of over 21 million people.
In partnership with Facebook Live and Vice, the line-up itself currently consists of artists along the lines of Jessie Ware, Jack Garratt, The National, Hot Chip and Rudimental, with the full line-up of London events available here. ‘Give A Home’ will also see artists such as JP Cooper, Daughter and Benjamin Frances Leftwich take to the stage – or living room rather, as the events will be taking place in people’s homes all over the world. Exact locations of each event will be released closer to the date, with a few secret line-ups also set to be revealed. Fans are able to apply for tickets as of today, and are given the option to make donations to Amnesty’s refugee crisis aid.
