Haslemere-based musician George Van Den Broek aka Yellow Days has shared his new single ‘The Way Things Change’. The first new single from the teenage multi-instrumentalist since his recent album Is Everything Okay In Your World? it’s a typically laid-back affair. Over dreamy slacker rock guitar, Van Den Broek declares ‘you’ve got to keep going’ in his trademark bleary-eyed baritone, a squelching bassline underpinning the track and calling to mind the likes of Thundercat with it’s subtle funk influence.
The accompanying video for the track sees Yellow Days performing the track on his own, stylised like a series of tour posters. Directed by Sam Travis it’s a unique video concept, each frame morphing slightly as the visual progresses. To coincide with the release, the 400 frames that make up the video have actually been turned into a series of individual posters that fans can purchase. Find the link to buy those in the video’s description and watch/ listen to ‘The Way Things Change’ below.
Yellow Days stars in Notion 79, the Break Through issue, available now.
