There’s a reason Yizzy is being hailed as grime’s new hope at the moment. Well, there’s several reasons, in fact: his bars, his flow and his undeniable presence on the mic. Where much of the UK underground has split into afroswing on one side and UK drill on the other, Yizzy is staying true to 140 bpm. Delivering track after track of rave demolishing, MC obliterating grime, he’s scorched through south London and at just 18 is working with some of the scene’s most respected producers, including Treble Clef and Ruff Sqwad main man Rapid.

Today he’s dropping the video for the Maniac-produced ‘BAP’ from his upcoming EP S.O.S. and it’s the latest confirmation from the young MC that he’s here for the throne. Premiering on Notion today, the video is simple but effective, shot at the foot of a South London tower block it sees Yizzy delivering his bars with ferocious energy, mixed with some slick editing. It’s the perfect encapsulation of his fusion of old-school grime and modern energy.
