The folks at YouTube have revealed the most covered songs of all time on the site and, contrary to what you might expect, John Legend’s ‘All of Me’ is number one. The Notion 74 cover star beat the likes of Leonard Cohen, Adele and Coldplay to take the number one spot. Justin Bieber’s ‘Love Yourself’ bagged the number two spot, also claiming the title of most covered song in the world last year, with Adele’s ‘Someone Like You’ and ‘Hello’ coming in close behind at numbers five and six respectively.

The biggest surprise however, is probably that Imagine Dragon’s ‘Radioactive’ has been covered more than the late-Leonard Cohen’s ‘Hallelujah’ which, while ‘Hallelujah’ covers are undoubtedly a plague on humanity at this point, is something of a tragedy.

Sad-boy-Simon & Garfunkel anthem, ‘Say Something’ by Great Big World comes in seventh, with the equally-emo ‘Jar of Hearts’ by Christina Perri in eighth. Sam Smith’s ‘Stay With Me’ and Coldplay’s only good song ‘The Scientist’ complete the top ten in that order. The list was revealed as part of MTV’s Cover of Month competition.
