Zola Jesus is back with the beautifully dark glitch-pop track ‘Exhumed’. The track comes three-years after the singer’s last album Taiga, which made it into the Billboard 200 Albums chart. It seems the singer recharged on her time off, stating that she decided to move back to her family home in the woods of Wisconsin to record her upcoming album Okovi. She says of the album and new single ‘Exhumed’: “This album is a deeply personal snapshot of loss, reconciliation, and a sympathy for the chains that keep us all grounded to the unforgiving laws of nature“. This outlook on enlightenment is certainly one we can all relate to, making Okavi an album to look forward to. Okavi is due to be released on 8 September. Listen to the first single off the new album below.
Zola Jesus will be touring this Autumn, including a show at London’s Village Underground.
